RSV
What is an RSV file?
Sony cameras write video to a temporary .RSV file while they record. When you press stop, the camera adds the index that tells players where every frame and audio sample is, and renames the file to .MP4.
If the recording is cut short (flat battery, full or ejected card, a crash, a camera that overheats) that last step never happens. The .RSV keeps the video and audio, but no player can open it. Renaming it to .MP4 doesn’t help: the index is still missing.
Do I need anything else?
Usually not. The camera writes everything needed to rebuild the index into the .RSV itself: how the video is encoded, the audio and the frame order. Only for a few unusual recordings will your repair page ask for a short working clip from the same camera.

Questions
What if my file can’t be repaired?
You’ll see it in the preview before paying. If there’s no preview, there’s nothing to pay. If the full download doesn’t match the preview, write to us and we’ll refund you.
Are my files private?
Files are transferred encrypted, are only used to repair your video, and are deleted automatically after 7 days. Nobody watches your footage.
How long does it take?
A few minutes for most files once the upload finishes. Very large recordings take longer.
Can I just rename .RSV to .MP4?
No. The file would still have no index, so players can’t read it. It needs to be rebuilt.
What do I get?
A standard MP4 with your original video and audio, not re-encoded, ready for Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or any player.
My file is huge. Is that a problem?
No. Uploads go in parts and resume after short drops. Files up to 512 GB are accepted.
